Lisa Hanrahan

Lisa Hanrahan has worked in Book Publishing for sixteen years, ten years as Production Manager for Random House Australia. The highlights were producing The Ballad of Desmond Kale by Roger McDonald,Winner of the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2006 and My Life as a Fake by Peter Carey, Winner of the 2004 Book Design Awards.

In a previous life she was an Accountant in Publishing and commerce and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Business, and a Bachelor of Business in Accounting. She regularly hides the Accounting credentials as her real passion is cutting a great business deal and finding the best home for a book.

Mark Byrne

Mark Byrne has been working in the entertainment industry nearly all of his life in one way or another. After training and working as a performer in theatre, television and the commercial arena, Mark moved to the managerial side. He has worked as an assistant director, choreographer, production assistant, producer’s assistant, junior agent, educator, production manager, both locally and abroad.

In 1996 Mark opened Mark Byrne Management, which now stands as one of Australia’s leading managements with clients currently working locally and internationally in theatre, film, television, music, directing, hosting, writing and producing. MBM manages talent such as Monica Trapaga, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Scott McGregor, Sun Park, Maeve O’Meara, Sharni Vinson, Rozz Switzer, Kid Courageous, Maggie Kirkpatrick, Charlotte Dawson and Bill Collins. Mark has had clients nominated and received awards for the Logies, Aria, Helpman, MO and AFI awards and currently has clients on every television network across Australia as well starring on the West End and in the US.

In 2005 Mark became the owner and director of Detour Management, Australia’s leading commercial music and dance agency and with his colleagues, has since taken the company to be the clear dominant leader in its field.

In 2006 Mark was given a label deal through SONY/BMG in partnership with ‘Smiley’ Cleary.PEPPERMINTBLUE signed AMY PEARSON, ANTHONY CALLEA, ROGUE TRADERS, NATALIE BASSINGTHWAIGHTE, ERICA BAXTER, THE ANDROIDS , TV ROCK and was winner of the MUSIC NETWORKS music managers of the year 2006.

In 2007, Mark sold PEPPERMINTBLUE — to manage NATALIE BASSINGTHWAIGHTE exclusively for music and to develop more international product — and to focus on entering the literary management and book publishing industry.

Rock Chicks is Mark Byrne’s first publishing title in this new endeavour.

Paul Dennett

Paul has 15 years experience delivering high quality products into global markets. With commercial experience in software and marketing, Paul has managed product portfolios ranging from fashion to finance to software and transport, and now divides his time between consulting to selected publishing companies and the NSW state government.  

Paul’s introduction into the Australian Publishing industry came when he was selected in 2004 as the National Scholarship recipient of the Graphics Arts Merchants Association of Australia. Since then he has completed a Masters of Management from MGSM, complementing his Bachelor Information Technology and is a valuable member of the team assisting with the marketing and commercial strategy.
